TURKEY SUSPENDS JOINT GAS EXPLORATION WITH SYRIA
SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC

Ankara - Turkey's Energy Minister Taner Yildiz told the Anatolia news agency that the state energy company, TPAO, has suspended joint gas exploration activities with Syria. The suspension, which involved six wells, is tied to the continued worsening of relations between Ankara and Damascus, which is caused by the Assad regime's bloody repression of the opposition and attacks by Syrian government supporters on the Turkish embassy and consulates.
