Moscow - Lukoil aims to become Russia's third largest producer of gas within ten years according to the draft for the company's new development plan. The plan envisages that by 2021 gas will amount to 35% of the company's total hydrocarbon production, compared to the 20% expected for 2011. The most important rise in production is expected to com from Uzebekistan, where Lukoil is present with the Khauzak-Shady-Kandym-Kungrad and Gissar projects. President Baghit Alekperov has announced that investments in gas production will amount to $12 billion over the net ten years.
