KUWAIT FEARS PRICE OF OIL MAY RISE TO $160
KUWAIT
Kuwait City - Ali al-Hajer, a member of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's board of directors, has said in an interview with the newspaper Al-Seyassah, that the price of oil risks rising to $160 a barrel due to tension caused by the embargo on Iranian crude oil. "Should the embargo on Iran continue," he said, "or should there be military operations addressed at closing of the Strait of Hormuz, the price of oil could soar to $150-160." Hajeri did, however, add that a rise of that kind would not last very long and that prices would return to "normal levels" as soon as the reasons for the spike were resolved.
