CAMEROON TO INVEST 30 MILLION ON NEW POWER PLANT
CAMEROON

Yaoundè - Thanks to a loan from international financial institutions, Cameroon's government  has allocated the equivalent of about 30 million euro to build a power plant in the centre-north of the country. With a capacity of 216 MW, the plant will supply electricity to over 160,000 citizens. Planned by the national electricity company Aes-Sonel, this plant will contribute to satisfying rising internal demand for energy, currently guaranteed with production amounting to almost 1,000 MW. In addition to the power plant, the 30 million euros will be used to build 100 kilometres of high tension power lines and intermediate stations equipped with modern transformers.
