Baghdad - The proposal that the rotating presidency should be assigned to Iraq was made by Iran during the opening of OPEC's 160th summit and welcomed by all participants. Iraq had held the vice presidency during the Iranian presidency which ended in December. The Kuwaiti Minister for oil, Mohammad al-Busairi, was elected vice president.
