EDISON-DEPA'S ITGI PIPELINE TO COST EUR1.5-2BN, SAYS GREEK ENERGY MINISTER

Baku - The ITGI - The 'Interconnection Turkey-Greece-Italy' - gas pipeline will cost anywhere between 1.5 and EUR2bn, boasting a 10bn cubic metre per annum capacity. The figures were reported by Greek energy minister, George Papaconstantinou, during a visit to Baku in Azerbaijan. The pipeline - sponsored by Italy's Edison Group and by Greece's DEPA (responsible for the IGI Poseidon stretch) - is a direct competitor to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and project Nabucco, transporting natural gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field to Europe
